How to Use Bidets
People using bidet for the first time don’t find it challenge process but often use them against how it is designed to use. By understanding proper way of using them can improve product efficiency considerably.Bidets can be categorized in two: conventional and attachable.
A Conventional bidet is not a toilet at all, but rather is a completely separate toilet-like looking plumbing fixture that most people in United States know as a Bidet. It may resemble a traditional toilet seat but is closer akin to a low wash sink basin with a faucet.
The attachable bidet usually replaces only the lifting toilet seat and/or cover portion without the need to replace the entire toilet itself. Attachable unit easily converts existing toilets into a bidet seat in few minutes.
CONVENTIONAL BIDET
1. For those of you who are new to the use of a bidet (Conventional or Attachable), it is important to note that bidets are generally used after one has finished using the toilet. Thus, the purpose of the bidet is to help cleanse yourself off after you are done using the toilet. Bidets can be viewed as a hygienic “hydro” substitute for toilet paper.
2. Once you are done using the toilet you have to move over to the conventional bidet and must either 1) straddle the bidet by facing it, or 2) sit on the bidet as you would sit on a regular toilet seat facing away from it. Due to the design of conventional bidets it is much easier to control the flow and temperature of water if you straddle the bidet by facing it, but it may be cumbersome and difficult if you are wearing pants as opposed to a dress. In any case, you can always use the second method by sitting facing away from the bidet. Conventional bidets do not have “toilet seats” that lifts up and down like the regular toilet seats in everyone’s household. Rather, you must simply straddle or sit on the rim as you would normally sit on your toilet at home, but facing in or away from the bidet as described above.
3. Once seated, you can adjust the flow and temperature of water for desired level of comfort paying close attention to the source and location of where the water is coming from or point at so as to avoid being inadvertently drenched by an unsuspecting user.
4. Now position and adjust yourself over the flowing or spouting water so that water makes contact with the desired area to be cleansed. Allow the flowing or spouting water to clean the anal and/or genital areas thoroughly. The flowing or spouting water will generally clean the desired area without the use of your hands. Some bidets do not have flowing or spouting water, but rather fills the sink basin of the bidet and must then manually sprinkle, splash and rinse to be cleaned with just water or with soap like a mini bath for the genital area.
5. After you are thoroughly clean, you must turn off the water before you get up to dry off the cleansed area. Normally, one would just pat themselves dry with toilet paper or towel, but some bidets have a built in air dryer.
6. Always rinse out conventional bidets after each use by turning on the flowing or spouting water at very low pressure for several seconds until it is clean and ready for next use.
7. Always wash your hands with soap and water as you would normally do after using the toilet.
Conventional bidets are not too common in United States or Asia, and would normally be found in Europe. These bidets are usually freestanding or mounted next to a wall and may look like a low but deep dish water fountain. A famous country singer recently stated that she had mistaken a bidet for a drinking fountain. Let us just hope that the “fountain” was cleaned after use but before she drank from it.
